This is a one-page site for a boxing gym in North Hollywood. It collects as little as it can: what you type into the booking form, and, if you allow it, anonymous figures on how the page is used.

The site is run by Dalakian Elite Boxing & Fitness, 5011 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601. Questions about anything here: call (818) 807-7745 or message @dalakian_elite_boxing.

What the booking form collects

The form asks for your phone number, and, if you want to give them, your name, email address, what you are after and a preferred time of day. When you send it, that goes straight to the gym's coaches as a message so someone can call or text you back about a class.

The buy buttons on the price list and the "book now" buttons around the page open a shorter version: a phone number and, optionally, a name. It reaches the coaches the same way, along with the plan you picked and which button you pressed, so they can call you back to sign you up.

Nothing from the form is kept in a database on this website. The message sits in the gym's own chat history until staff delete it. We use it to answer you and to arrange training, and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list from this form.

Buying a membership for someone else

Any paid plan can be bought as a gift. That step asks for their name, their phone number if you want us to call them, your name and phone number, and an optional note. It goes to the gym's coaches the same way a booking does, so they know whose name to put on the membership.

This is the one place where the site takes details about somebody who is not the person typing. Please only give us a number if they would be happy to hear from us. If you would rather tell them yourself, leave the number out and pick "I will tell them myself" — then nobody rings them.

Anyone whose details were given to us this way can call (818) 807-7745 and ask us to delete them. We will, and it will not affect the membership that was bought.

A gift comes with a certificate you can print or save as a PDF. The link to it carries the two names, the plan and the reference, so treat it the way you would the gift itself and only send it to the person it is for. Those pages are marked so search engines do not list them. Your browser also keeps a copy of the gift for a month, so the certificate is still there when you come back from paying; the "hide" button on that reminder deletes it.

The payment itself goes through Stripe as normal, and the card stays in the buyer's name.

What the site measures

With your permission, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the page bring people to the gym. It records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are (worked out from your IP address, not a precise location), your device and browser, and these things you can do here:

Names never reach analytics, gift recipients' included. What it records about a gift is that one was bought, and which plan.

Analytics does not receive your name, phone number or email address, and Google's own advertising features are switched off in the site's setup. If you decline, Google Analytics is switched off for you entirely and its cookies are deleted from your browser.

Separately from Google Analytics, when you open the site the gym's coaches get a short Telegram message saying someone is looking. It says roughly where (the city, worked out from your IP address), what kind of device and browser, your browser's language, which page you arrived on, and which site or campaign link brought you here. It has no name and sets no cookie. The gym also keeps daily totals of those visits — how many, from which sites, on which kinds of device, from which cities — for about forty days.

Your IP address is not put in the message. To stop one address flooding the count, a scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the address is kept for an hour, then deleted.

Your browser picks a random number for the tab when you arrive and forgets it when you close the tab. If you send the booking form from that tab, the number goes with it, so the coaches can see that the visit and the booking were the same person. That match is kept for a day.

Advertising

Separately, and only with your permission, the site loads the Meta pixel. It tells Meta — Facebook and Instagram — which pages you looked at here, and whether you sent the booking form, started a checkout or tapped the phone number. Meta uses that to show the gym's ads to people like you, and to tell the gym whether those ads worked.

In the language of California law that is sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and the switch below is the opt-out that law gives you. No money changes hands for your details, by us or by anyone.

If you decline, the pixel is never fetched at all: Meta's servers are not contacted, and the cookies it would have set are deleted. Decline it after the fact and it stops sending, though the file already loaded stays in that page until you leave it.

You can change your mind at any time, here or from the "Privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page.

Your choice

Counting visits Google Analytics. Which pages people read, and what brings them to the gym.

Now: not set

Advertising The Meta pixel. Sharing what you do here with Facebook and Instagram so the gym's ads find the right people.

Now: not set

Saved in this browser only, so it needs making again on another device, in a private window, or after clearing site data. A change here takes effect on the next page you open.

Paying

Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages. Card numbers are never typed into this site and never reach it. When you press a payment button we pass along which plan you picked and, for a gift, a reference and the recipient's first name so the gym can match the payment to the right person. What Stripe does with your details is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.

Cookies and site storage

_ga, _ga_… Set by Google Analytics to count a return visit as the same visitor. Only set if you allow analytics. Google sets these to last two years; declining deletes them.
_fbp, _fbc Set by the Meta pixel to recognise your browser across visits, and to remember that you arrived from one of the gym's ads. Only set if you allow advertising. Meta sets them to last three months; declining deletes them.
dalakian.gift.v1 Kept in your browser's local storage for a month after you buy a gift, so the certificate can be printed again when you get back from paying. It holds the names, the plan and your note. It is not sent anywhere, and hiding the reminder deletes it.
dalakian.visit.v1 Kept in your browser's session storage, so the gym is told about a visit once rather than on every reload. It holds a random number for the tab, sent with the visit and with a booking from that tab, and is gone when you close the tab.
dalakian.me.v1 Only on the gym's own phones and computers, set from a link the staff use, so their own visits are not counted. It is not sent anywhere.
dalakian.consent.v2 Kept in your browser's local storage to remember the two choices you made above, so you are not asked on every visit. It is not sent anywhere.

There are no other cookies on this site.

Who else sees anything

We do not sell your personal information. We do share it for advertising, in the one way described above: the Meta pixel, and only if you allowed it. No money is taken for your details by anyone here.

If you are in California

California law gives you the right to know what personal information a business has collected about you, to ask for it to be deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to be treated no differently for asking.

Nothing here is sold. Something here is shared: the Meta pixel, for advertising. The advertising switch above is your opt-out, and so is the "Privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page. Turning it off changes nothing else about how the gym treats you, and the first class is still free.

To make any of these requests, call (818) 807-7745, message @dalakian_elite_boxing, or come to the front desk at 5011 Lankershim Blvd. We may need to check who you are before acting on a request about someone's personal details.

Children

The kids boxing class is for ages 6 to 14, but the booking form is for a parent or guardian to fill in. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, call (818) 807-7745 and we will delete them.

Changes

If how the site handles any of this changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Worth a look if you have not read it in a while.
